The Weeknd, a Canadian singer-songwriter, is recognized as an artist who brought alternative R&B, a blend of R&B with hip-hop and electronic sounds, into the mainstream of popular music. He began gaining recognition through mixtapes released online in 2011 and later solidified his status as a global pop star by winning the Grammy Award for 'Best Urban Contemporary Album' for 'Beauty Behind the Madness'.

His representative song, 'Blinding Lights,' had a long run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and ranked first on Billboard's 'All-Time Hot 100' chart achievements in 2021. Furthermore, in August of last year, he became the first artist to surpass 5 billion streams on Spotify, and in 2023, he achieved 100 million monthly listeners.
This concert is interpreted as a product of Hyundai Card's determination to "prove the pinnacle that only Hyundai Card can achieve," aligning with Vice Chairman Chung Tae-young's past statement, "Our will to invite artists who are difficult to bring to Korea remains strong."
