Comedian Heo Kyung-hwan, Yang Sang-guk Gain Attention

KBS's 22nd publicly recruited comedians are recently gaining attention in the entertainment scene once again. They are called the "Second Golden Class," who led the last period of resurgence for KBS 2TV's 'Gag Concert' from the late 2000s to the early-to-mid 2010s.

Heo Kyung-hwan and Yang Sang-guk are currently showing the most active progress. After joining MBC's 'How Do You Play?', they are leading the program's turnaround. Heo Kyung-hwan made his presence known starting with a special in October last year, and after becoming a regular in March of this year, he has established himself as the program's central pillar. Yang Sang-guk is driving話題 (topic of conversation) by building a new relationship with Yoo Jae-suk through his "country mouse who came up to Seoul from Gimhae" concept and his resemblance to Prince Charles. Thanks to their performance, 'How Do You Play?' recovered its peak momentum, recording a viewership rating of 5.4% during the Choi Hong-man special.

Kim Jun-hyun and Jang Do-yeon are also demonstrating their enduring influence. Kim Jun-hyun is stably playing a central role across both terrestrial and web content, while Jang Do-yeon has established herself as the most preferred talk show entertainer and an overwhelming host for the current generation.

Meanwhile, in the revived 'Gag Concert,' Park Sung-kwang and Park Young-jin are holding down the stage as the senior members. Park Young-jin dominates the stage with his direct speaking style, as seen in 'Two-Person Debate,' and Park Sung-kwang is generating buzz online with a segment parodying a popular drama.

Their strong camaraderie was once again highlighted recently through MBC's 'Omniscient Interfering View.' The scene where colleagues gathered for Yang Sang-guk's housewarming party, including Park Sung-kwang, Park Young-jin, Kim Jun-hyun, Heo Kyung-hwan, Kim Won-hyo, Song Joon-geun, and Jang Hyo-in, showed that they are a community sharing deep bonds beyond being just colleagues. In particular, the part where they remembered the late Park Ji-sun made them feel the weight of being the 22nd class.
