Korean Actress Han Da-gam, 40, Announces Pregnancy

Actress Handa Gam announced the news of becoming the oldest mother in the entertainment industry, along with the completion of her legal name change. On the 1st, Handa Gam shared daily photos on her social media service (SNS) and revealed, "I've completely changed my name." This signifies the completion of her legal name change process.

Handa Gam debuted in 1999 under her birth name Han Eun-jung, and in 2018, her 20th year since debut, she changed her stage name to Handa Gam. Regarding the reason for the name change, Handa Gam previously revealed on a broadcast that she changed her name upon a monk's recommendation due to a full-body injury from a fall she experienced at age 7 and subsequent ongoing health issues. After the name change, she mentioned, "I feel the healthiest I've ever been in my life."

Handa Gam, who married a businessman one year her senior in 2020, recently announced her pregnancy at the age of 47. She stated, "I've become the oldest mother in the entertainment industry," and resolved, "I will be extra careful and cautious as I walk into my second life." Her due date is this autumn.

Regarding the pregnancy news, Handa Gam said, "This is the first time I've received so many congratulatory calls since my debut," expressing surprise and emotion at the widespread interest and support for her pregnancy. She felt a sense of fulfillment in giving hope to those who desire children at a later age, emphasizing, "I want to give people a dream and hope that management is more important than age."
