Actress Kim Si-eun left a short but powerful impression in the 5th episode of tvN drama 'A Killer Paradox' by playing the high school and college years of Joo In-a (played by Shin Hye-sun). The broadcast revealed Joo In-a's past, which she had not easily disclosed in the present, exposing the character's deep wounds and deficiencies.

In the drama, Kim Si-eun portrayed Joo In-a's time, enduring cold stares from childhood due to the stigma of being 'the daughter of an adulterous woman.' She delicately depicted the character's pain not by expressing strong emotions, but by accumulating long-suppressed wounds within a calm demeanor. From organizing a notebook full of doodles, to scenes of confusion and anger after learning about her mother's affairs through a friend, and the process of reaching belated regret and understanding after her mother's death, she calmly continued, adding to the immersion of Joo In-a's past narrative.

In particular, the scene where she stands on the podium at an art academy during her college years is the core of the past narrative. Kim Si-eun delicately portrayed the shame, fear, and belatedly surging emotions of the moment when In-a, who had not understood her mother, finally grasped her mother's heart while standing in the same place. By conveying emotions through expressions and gazes rather than words, she convincingly filled in the starting point of the resilience and loneliness that the current Joo In-a, played by Shin Hye-sun, possesses.

Kim Si-eun previously delivered an impressive performance in the Genie TV original 'My Happy Ending,' also playing the younger version of the character portrayed by Shin Hye-sun.
