Korean Actresses Han Ga-dam, Kim Min-kyung Announce Late-Life Pregnancies

The recent successive announcements of pregnancies by female celebrities in their late 40s have increased interest in advanced maternal age pregnancies. Due to medical advancements and improved quality of life, having children in one's 40s is no longer an unusual occurrence.

Actress Han Da-gam announced her first pregnancy at the age of 46 (45 in Korean age). She expressed her feelings about her child, conceived six years into her marriage, saying, "I still can't believe it, but it's true," and added, "I think I've become the oldest mother in the entertainment industry." Han Da-gam married a businessman in 2020 and successfully conceived on her first attempt with in-vitro fertilization. She is currently in her second trimester and is expected to give birth this fall. She vowed, "As the oldest mother, I will exercise more, pay more attention to my health, and be extra careful as I embark on the second chapter of my life."

Former Miss Korea and actress Kim Min-kyung also announced her first pregnancy at the age of 45 (44 in Korean age). She married in her mid-40s and became pregnant two years later. After becoming pregnant, Kim Min-kyung revealed her realistic concerns and worries, saying, "Is it growing well? Will I be able to give birth well? Will old parents be okay?"

Chinese actress Tang Wei announced her second pregnancy at the age of 47 (46 in Korean age). Tang Wei, who married director Kim Tae-yong in 2014 and gave birth to a daughter in 2016, is now pregnant with her second child after 10 years. She shared the news of her pregnancy on social media, saying, "There will be more horses at home, and everyone is looking forward to it." However, concerns have been raised about her confirmed participation in upcoming projects due to the unexpected pregnancy.

In addition, singer Lim Jeong-hee (44), and actresses Choi Ji-woo, Kim Ha-neul, Hwang Bo-ra, and Kim Min-hee also gave birth to their first children in their 40s.
