STAYC's 'Little Sister' Na Haeun Forms New Group

Highup Entertainment's new girl group UNCHILD, their first in approximately six years, will officially debut on April 21st. Ahead of their debut, UNCHILD released a pre-teaser on their official SNS channels, leaving a strong impression by adding the prefix ‘​UN-’ to words like ‘APPLE’, ‘FROG’, and ‘COMFORTABLE’, thereby subverting their original meanings. These teasers combined sensory visuals with witty messages, revealing UNCHILD's unique team color. Their boundary-breaking concept and fresh approach are sparking curiosity among global fans, heightening anticipation for their debut.

As Highup Entertainment's first new group in about six years since STAYC, UNCHILD is garnering significant attention even before their debut. The group has particularly drawn attention as it includes Na Haeun, who was recognized as a ‘​dance prodigy’ through appearances like ‘Star King’ and the ‘2018 Melon Music Awards’.

UNCHILD defines the "FREAKY energy" of youth, which is quirky and unique, unconstrained by the world's gaze, and has expressed their ambition to break established norms and showcase their raw charm. Through a debut trailer, the names and visuals of members Park Yaeun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, Yvon, and Na Haeun were revealed for the first time, with each member showcasing a character embodying their individual personality.

Lead vocalist Park Yaeun embodies a cool and sophisticated image symbolizing a unique direction, while leader and main rapper Hiki foreshadows overwhelming stage presence. Tina from China hints at hidden talents behind her glamorous visuals, and Ako from Japan exudes a bubbly charm, serving as the team's 'viral trigger.' Main vocalist Yvon presents a mysterious and surprising aura, and Na Haeun, dubbed the ‘5th Generation Dance Icon’ and the group's mood maker, proved her cheerful disposition.

The group name UNCHILD is formed by combining the prefix ‘UN-’, which subverts the ordinary, with ‘CHILD (PERSON)’, signifying someone not confined by any standards.
