Sungri Admits Envy Over Wanna One Reunion

Singer Sungri appeared on MBN's "Kim Juha's Day & Night" and shared his feelings about winning "Nameless Legend" after six attempts at audition programs. He spoke about his past despair at falling short of the finals and his thoughts on giving up music, as well as his experience on "Produce 101" Season 2.

Sungri was eliminated in 46th place on "Produce 101" Season 2 and mentioned his year-long activities with the project group 'RAINZ' with fellow contestants. He expressed his apologies to his younger group members for not being able to fulfill his role as leader and eldest hyung properly.

Furthermore, Sungri confessed to feeling complex emotions watching his "Produce 101" peers achieve great success debuting as Wanna One, and Park Jihoon becoming a star actor. He candidly shared, "I can't express it in words. Honestly, I think it's unavoidable to feel envious seeing friends do better and better," adding, "But while I was so happy for them, I also felt a lot of impatience."

He revealed that he continued to challenge himself with the mindset of "Let's just try something, anything." Regarding his recently released song "Tonight's Night" ranking high on music charts, and his song appearing on similar rankings to the reunion activities of Wanna One members, he said it made him think of many things. He expressed his emotional feelings, saying, "I realized that even if it's incredibly hard and agonizing, if you endure and endure, days like this can come."

Despite winning "Nameless Legend," Sungri showed a humble attitude, stating that he does not consider himself a famous singer. He expressed his desire to sing for his fans more diligently and happily in the future.
