BTS Members Vote in First Idol Election

On June 3, the day of the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections and National Assembly by-elections, stars also cast their votes at polling stations and encouraged citizens to vote. Jin of the group BTS, after returning to Korea briefly following his world tour schedule, visited the third polling station in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, to cast his vote. Broadcaster Jang Young-ran, actress So Yu-jin, and actor Yoon Jong-hoon also posted proof of their votes on social media, encouraging participation.

Some stars visited polling stations with their children to reflect on the meaning of their vote. Musical actor couple Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho shared a family photo with their son, Joo-an, stating, "Teaching the meaning of a precious vote." Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu accompanied his son to the polling station for the first time, leaving a message: "Please take good care of our children, those who will be elected." Actor couple Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun revealed a photo of themselves in workout clothes after their early morning running training, having visited the polling station.

Idol group members also participated in voting. All members of the group ODE TO YOU, except for the Japanese member, voted together and encouraged others by saying, "Try exercising your precious vote." Kani, a member born in 2007 and voting for the first time, shared her feelings: "I've become an adult and cast my first vote as a citizen of Korea. I feel proud."

Prior to this, some stars had participated in early voting. Martin and Junghoon from the group CURTIS, and Won Hwayeon, Taerin, Rahy, and Cassia from the group IF I, released photos as proof of their early votes. Martin and Junghoon, born in 2008 and eligible to vote for the first time, shared their excitement about their first vote with photos holding their early voting certificates, stating, "We are adults now too."
