K-Drama Star Lim Ji Yeon Channels Gangster Kim Doo Han

In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Wonderful New World,' Lim Ji-yeon showcases another comedic performance, following the 'Jang Hee-bin possession meme' with a 'Kim Du-han possession.' The drama is a romantic comedy about Shin Seo-ri (Lim Ji-yeon), an unknown actress who becomes 'evil' after being possessed by the soul of Joseon's notorious villain, and Cha Se-gye (Heo Nam-joon), a ruthless chaebol dubbed a monster born of capitalism. Episode 3 depicted Shin Seo-ri's journey to find her acting dream and Cha Se-gye establishing 'B.O.J. Entertainment' to recruit her.

In the upcoming Episode 4, Shin Seo-ri is set to punish thugs who are causing trouble. The released stills show Shin Seo-ri facing off against multiple burly men, swinging her fists with a determined expression. It's a scene where Shin Seo-ri confronts the thugs as if going into battle, ruthlessly dealing with them, unfolding an action-packed spectacle as if possessed by Kim Du-han from the drama 'Yain Sidae' (The Age of Warriors).

Shin Seo-ri's movements are a homage to Kim Du-han, who used to eliminate street thugs, and she is shown taking down even a thug twice her size. The sight of the thugs falling like autumn leaves under Shin Seo-ri's control is expected to deliver a thrilling catharsis. This scene is particularly anticipated to be a highlight, following the viral 'Jang Hee-bin possession meme,' and it is said that during the actual filming, Lim Ji-yeon heated up the set with her possessed-level acting and a fearless, all-out effort.

Director Han Tae-seop stated, "Seo-ri's scene in Episode 4, possessed by Kim Du-han from 'Yain Sidae,' is definitely among the top 3 comedic masterpieces by Lim Ji-yeon," raising expectations for Lim Ji-yeon's epic comedic performance. 'Wonderful New World' Episode 4 airs tonight (the 16th) at 9:50 PM.
