Hong Ji Yoon's Resolve for 2026 Korea-Japan Singer Showdown

The National Team TOP7 of 'Hyunyeok GaWang 3' - Hong Ji-yoon, Cha Ji-yeon, Lee Soo-yeon, Gu Soo-kyung, Kang Hye-yeon, Kim Tae-yeon, and Solji - have revealed their determination for the '2026 Korea-Japan GaWang Competition'. The first broadcast is scheduled for April 14th at 9:50 PM. The '2026 Korea-Japan GaWang Competition', produced by Crea Studio, is the world's only music national competition between Korea and Japan, where the TOP7 from Japan's 'Hyunyeok GaWang - Kahii (Japan Edition)' and the TOP7 from Korea's 'Hyunyeok GaWang 3' will compete, representing their respective countries with national pride and honor.

This program marks the third season, following 2004 and 2005, and is a large-scale project designed to pave the way for the birth of global stars spanning Korea and Japan. It offers a rich musical experience to viewers by showcasing various genres such as trot, R&B, rock, and J-pop, and leads cultural exchange between Korea and Japan that transcends borders and generations.

The Korean team currently holds a 2-0 undefeated record against the Japanese team. In this season, the Korean TOP7, tasked with defending the honor of the Korean team, revealed their strong pride and solemn determination through a send-off ceremony that showcased their individual personalities.

Hong Ji-yoon, the '3rd Hyunyeok GaWang', declared her ambitious aspiration for victory, stating, "If you thought we were easy, you're mistaken. Let's go for 3-0." 'Attacking General Cha', Cha Ji-yeon, exuded intense charisma, saying, "​This is Korea. We will show you the energy of our land and the spirit of our sky."
