Park Shin Hye Excludes Baeksang, Expecting Second Child

Actress Park Shin-hye has announced her second pregnancy, but her exclusion from the nominations for the '62nd Baeksang Arts Awards' has drawn disappointment.

A representative from Park Shin-hye's agency, SALT Entertainment, announced on the 14th that Park Shin-hye is pregnant with her second child and is expected to give birth this fall. Choi Tae-joon's agency, BLITZWAY Entertainment, also confirmed the news. Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon married in January 2022 and welcomed their first son in May of the same year. This is their second pregnancy, four years after their first child.

Park Shin-hye, who debuted in 2003, has consistently built her filmography. Following her return after marriage, she consecutively achieved success with JTBC's 'Doctor Slump,' SBS's 'Judge from Hell,' and tvN's 'The Reluctant Fiancee.' Notably, 'The Reluctant Fiancee,' which concluded in March, recorded a peak viewership rating of 13.1%, marking one of the highest ratings among tvN dramas aired from last year to this year, following 'The Tyrant's Chef.'

However, Park Shin-hye's name was not included in the nominations for the '62nd Baeksang Arts Awards' announced on the 13th. For 'The Reluctant Fiancee,' Ha Yoon-kyung was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, and Choi Ji-soo was nominated for Best New Actress. The nominees for Best Actress in the Drama category are Kim Go-eun, Park Bo-young, Park Ji-hyun, Shin Hye-sun, and Im Yoon-ah.

In response, some netizens expressed reactions such as "I don't understand why Park Shin-hye is excluded," "Does Baeksang dislike Park Shin-hye?", and "It's unfair to be passed over for a nomination."
