Kim Jang-hoon Overcomes Mockery, Advances to Round 4

On the third episode of JTBC's 'Hidden Singer 8', aired on the 14th, Kim Jang-hoon appeared as the original singer. Joobin participated in the judging panel along with Kim Jong-seo, Lee Se-dol, Go Eun-ah, Young Tak, Park So-hyun, and Jung Seung-hwan. Kim Jang-hoon expressed his feelings about appearing, saying, "They said there were no impersonators. I am the happiest in my singing career to be here today."

When MC Jun Hyun-moo asked Kim Jang-hoon about being known as 'Soop-hoon-hoon', Kim Jang-hoon explained it himself. He stated, "'Soop-hoon-hoon' is a secondary character created by someone to mock me," and explained that videos edited to show his performances, where he pushed through without rest despite suffering vocal cord nodules four times, were called 'Soop-hoon-hoon compilations'. He believed these videos would support him in his old age after 60, and rather, 'Soop-hoon-hoon' became the catalyst for him to study opera and overcome his vocal cord issues. On this broadcast, he declared his ambition to sing as the real Kim Jang-hoon, not 'Soop-hoon-hoon'.

Go 9-dan Lee Se-dol, who attended as a judge, mentioned his connection with Kim Jang-hoon. He said, "We met through Go about 10 years ago when I played against AlphaGo," adding that Kim Jang-hoon is good at Go. Lee Se-dol elicited laughter by saying Kim Jang-hoon was already leaning towards 'Soop-hoon-hoon' when he saw him, and he noted that his vocal tone had changed recently, vowing to focus and try to match it.

Singer Young Tak revealed a special connection with Kim Jang-hoon. Young Tak recalled experiencing 30 failures before his hit song 'Why Are You Coming Out There', and through a mutual acquaintance, Kim Jang-hoon heard his song and invited him to a concert. Young Tak confessed that Kim Jang-hoon, his senior, called him on stage at the concert and let him sing together, which was a great source of strength, calling Kim Jang-hoon a benefactor to him.

Joobin, with his flamboyant attire, surprised everyone by revealing he was Kim Jang-hoon's road manager in the past. He stated that Kim Jang-hoon had a significant influence on his debut with Norazo, and that he heard Kim Jang-hoon's voice in almost every space. Joobin expressed confidence in his impersonation skills, mentioning he had sung in his place during rehearsal stages, and Kim Jang-hoon also identified Joobin as the person who knows his voice best.
