Girl group aespa's pre-release track from their second full album, "WDA" (Whole Different Animal), is gaining global popularity, charting in the Top 10 on iTunes Top Song charts in 17 regions worldwide. The song garnered significant attention even before its release due to G-Dragon, formerly of BIGBANG, participating in the featuring and rap-making.

"WDA" is a hip-hop-based dance track featuring an impressive, grand synthesizer bass and a heavy hook. It received "Gold Album" certification on QQ Music, China's largest music platform, and also topped charts for digital album sales, music videos, and K-pop.

The music video, released alongside the song, depicts the members experiencing chaos and conflict in an era where proving "authenticity" is difficult, before breaking through their own cracks. In particular, the bus crash scene and the collapsing clones visually amplified the anxiety of an era where familiar images are replicated and consumed.

Their agency, SM Entertainment, explained that aespa has been building a narrative of coexistence between the real and digital selves, centered around their virtual alter egos 'ae-aespa,' since their debut. This latest work is an attempt to expand on their long-standing worldview by connecting it to the current technological environment.

aespa is scheduled to release their second full album, "LEMONADE," which includes a total of 10 songs including "WDA," on the 29th at 1 PM.
