BTS V's Impact Stuns Mexican President

Local media have described the phenomenon caused by BTS member V in Mexico as the 'V-effect'. BTS held a total of three concerts in Mexico City, marking their first visit to Mexico in approximately nine years.

Ahead of the concerts, BTS received an official invitation from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and had a meeting. The British newspaper The Times covered their visit prominently with the headline, "Even the President is mesmerized when BTS visits," reporting that V summarized a moment from Mexico's Independence Day celebration.

An unexpected scene during the concert garnered significant attention. V was spotted personally buying and eating a Mexican-style corn dog called a banderilla at the concert venue's food court, and the footage quickly spread across social media.

Subsequently, the prominent Mexican daily newspaper Excelsior reported that the 'V-effect' had occurred, stating, "After V ate a banderilla at the first concert, everyone wants banderillas." Indeed, long lines of fans formed at the concert venue's food court to purchase banderillas, and related videos and proof posts went viral on social media.

Beyond the concerts, V also actively showed his interest in Mexican culture. He personally prepared Spanish greetings and remarks, recommended music by representative Mexican artists, and visited an exhibition by Luis Barragán.
