He plays Baek Gwang-nam, a resident of room 202 in a gosiwon (a type of cheap, small room rental) and a 'professional complainer', showcasing fantastic chemistry with Shin Se-ri, played by Lim Ji-yeon, as a realistic, relatable character.

In the previous episode, Baek Gwang-nam made a strong entrance as adversaries who clashed over every little thing with Shin Se-ri, his next-door neighbor. He realistically portrayed their tense exchanges over noise complaints, Gwang-nam's embarrassment at Se-ri's sudden "samul nori" (a traditional Korean percussion quartet) response, and his cowardly retreat in the face of her sharp Joseon-era dialect and factual bombardments, drawing viewers into the story.

Later, Baek Gwang-nam suffered the humiliation of being caught trying to secretly take Se-ri's side dishes from the shared refrigerator. He offered a flimsy excuse, "The containers looked similar, so I grabbed the wrong one," but was immediately put in his place by Se-ri, resorting to polite speech and stammering, revealing his cowardly side, dominated by Se-ri's assertiveness.

Following this, Baek Gwang-nam suggested Se-ri, who was looking for a job, appear on a home shopping broadcast. When Se-ri became a 'sold-out star', he showed a reaction of being even more moved than she was. This marked the beginning of their transformation from adversaries into reliable business partners.

From the first episode, Kim Min-seok embodied the 'professional complainer' Baek Gwang-nam with his unique, sly acting, playing a vital role in energizing the drama. He not only portrayed Gwang-nam's cowardly actions of coveting others' side dishes but also acted as a mediator, helping Se-ri find a job and bringing her into the outside world, exuding a unique presence as a link in the narrative. He received praise for elevating a character who could have easily been unlikeable into a charming individual who couldn't be hated.
