Han Goeun, Park Se Young Return to K-Drama

MBC's new daily drama 'Family Relations Certificate' is drawing attention even before its broadcast with the meeting of Park Se-young, who is returning to the small screen after 4 years following her marriage and childbirth, and Han Go-eun, who is returning to drama after 3 years. The drama depicts the process of a child, branded as the cause of a family's downfall from the moment of birth, fighting against societal prejudice and a cruel fate to reclaim their life.

The comprehensive preview video tells the story of Na Jin-i (played by Park Se-young), who finds her reason for existence amidst tragedy, as the wrong choices of the parent generation leave deep scars on the next generation. The video, which begins with Na Se-ri (played by Han Go-eun) shedding tears while playing the cello in a glamorous dress, hints that the misaligned desires of Na Se-ri and Cha Min-gi (played by Jeon No-min) were the starting point of the tragedy that shook a family.

Cha Min-gi's second son, Cha Seung-woo (played by Jeon Seung-bin), exclaims in anger, "I couldn't even play soccer once. What's so great about dad?" His older brother, Cha Seung-hyun (played by Seo Do-young), retorts, "The dad my brother missed, the husband my mother lost. You and your mother took them." Na Jin-i, dressed in mourning attire, says, "I guess I'm the only one who feels this strange sense of kinship." The video goes back in time, showing Cha Min-gi handing divorce papers to his wife Noh Young-joo (played by Im Ji-eun) in front of their two sons, and Young-joo tearing them up. Afterward, Noh Young-joo visits the home where Na Se-ri and Cha Min-gi have started a new life and expresses her resentment, saying, "I'll make you feel firsthand what parental infidelity does to children for the rest of your lives."

Returning to the present, Na Se-ri justifies her choices, revealing her desires and obsessions by saying, "Everyone hates having their love interfered with." At the end of the preview, Na Jin-i's monologue, carrying deep wounds, "Don't save me. I don't want to live," leaves viewers wondering about the story behind her extreme despair and how she will overcome the stigma imposed by society.

'Family Relations Certificate' is noteworthy as Park Se-young's return to MBC after 7 years, following 'My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol,' which recorded a highest viewership rating of 34.9%.
