Kang Ye Won's $1.1M Debt: Inheritance Refused

Actress Kang Ye-won's situation, where she discovered a significant debt of 1 billion to 1.1 billion won after her father's death and is even considering renouncing her inheritance, has been revealed.

On the SBS entertainment program 'My Little Old Boy,' Kang Ye-won visited a law firm to review documents related to her father's assets and debts. During this process, the lawyer informed Kang Ye-won that her father's debt amounted to approximately 1 billion to 1.1 billion won, which came as a great shock to her. In particular, about 300 million won of the debt was nearing its repayment deadline, and the possibility of unconfirmed creditors appearing further increased the potential debt, causing Kang Ye-won to shed tears.

Kang Ye-won explained that she had to cut back on expenses due to her father's medical bills, expressing regret for not knowing the situation while her father was alive. She was also heartbroken by the possibility of having to sell the house she had lived in for nearly 30 years since high school.

The lawyer explained that in the case of the apartment where the family resided, the mother owned half the shares, and suggested a plan to sell the apartment and then repay the debts. Furthermore, they advised that renouncing the inheritance might be a realistic option for the children.
