Jun Ji-hyun's Cannes Beauty Stuns Fans

Director Yeon Sang-ho's new film 'The Bequeathed' garnered global cinematic attention at the 79th Cannes Film Festival with its official photocall. The film, which marks Jun Ji-hyun's return to the big screen after 11 years, was invited to the Cannes Film Festival's Midnight Screenings section, once again proving the prestige of Korean cinema. Key cast members, including director Yeon Sang-ho, Jun Ji-hyun, Ji Chang-wook, Gu Kyo-hwan, Kim Shin-rok, and Shin Hyun-been, all attended the photocall.

Jun Ji-hyun exuded a chic yet innocent charm in a white blouse and slacks. Ji Chang-wook and Gu Kyo-hwan looked sophisticated in black shirts and suits, while Kim Shin-rok sported a white sleeveless two-piece set, and Shin Hyun-been showcased an elegant silhouette in a beige dress, drawing a flurry of flashes from foreign press. Moments that highlighted the global popularity of K-content also unfolded. A French photojournalist met in the press room revealed they were a fan of Ji Chang-wook and had eagerly anticipated the meeting, while some reporters recognized the Korean actors.

'The Bequeathed' is a fierce survival struggle set in a building sealed off due to an unknown infection, where survivors isolated within battle against unpredictably evolving infected individuals. The film is being praised for director Yeon Sang-ho's unique storytelling and tense direction. This marks director Yeon Sang-ho's fourth invitation to the Cannes Film Festival, following 'The King of Pigs' in 2012, 'Train to Busan' in 2016, and 'Peninsula' which was selected for the 'Cannes 2020 Label'. He will be walking the Cannes red carpet again with 'The Bequeathed' after approximately 10 years.

Jun Ji-hyun makes her return to the big screen after 11 years, since the 2015 film 'Assassination'. In addition, the film features a strong cast including Gu Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo, enhancing its overall quality. The official world premiere screening of 'The Bequeathed' in the Midnight Screenings section will take place on the 16th at 0:30 AM (KST 7:30 AM on the 16th), and domestic audiences can see the film in theaters on the 21st.
