Whale Star Filming Begins: Moon Ga Young, Choi Woo Shik

Actress Moon Ga-young held an interview ahead of the release of the film 'If We Were'. Since her debut in 2006, Moon Ga-young has established herself as a 'romance queen' through various works, and in this film, she tells a story about a couple reuniting after 10 years. She revealed that she decided to appear in the film because she was drawn to the message of the script and the black-and-white filming style. In this movie, Moon Ga-young delivered a memorable scene that brought viewers to tears, deeply immersing herself in the character's emotions by saying, "​Isn't deleting contact information the very end of a breakup?"

Moon Ga-young mentioned that despite the age difference with her co-star Koo Kyo-hwan, she didn't feel a generational gap. Instead, she felt comfortable acting due to their similar analog tastes and sense of humor. She expressed her enjoyment while discussing the constant flow of ideas and different approaches on set with Koo Kyo-hwan. Additionally, Moon Ga-young, who was born in Germany and returned to Korea at a young age to start acting, added that if she hadn't become an actress, she would have dreamed of being a ballerina.

At 29, Moon Ga-young revealed that as she approaches her thirties, she feels surprised that she isn't as mature as she thought and is contemplating the standards of being a good adult. She also expressed her affection for band music, which she loved as a child, through her MC activities on Mnet's 'Still Heart Club'. She cited not losing interest in acting over the past 19 years as the best thing she's done and vowed to continue acting with the same passion.

Moon Ga-young expressed her anticipation for her next project, the drama 'Whale Star,' directed by Hur Jin-ho and starring alongside Choi Woo-shik. She stated that she will be able to show a new side of herself by taking on a genre she's never attempted before in this work, which is set during the Japanese colonial era. The film 'If We Were' is scheduled to be released on the 31st.
