Lee Chan-won Funds Childhood Cancer Treatment

The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation announced that singer Lee Chan-won donated his 1 million won prize money from the "Good Star" March King of Kings competition to support medical treatment costs for children and adolescents with pediatric cancer and rare incurable diseases. This donation is significant because it represents the result of fan support being channeled into charitable giving, turning support for an artist into tangible treatment assistance for sick children. The funds are expected to help families facing increased financial burdens due to prolonged treatment.

The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation's medical treatment cost support program targets children diagnosed with pediatric cancer and rare incurable diseases under the age of 19. The donations provide broad support for medical expenses necessary for overall treatment, including hospitalization and hospital treatment costs, transplant-related expenses, and the purchase of rare medications, enabling families to focus solely on treatment.

Lee Chan-won consistently engages in charitable activities through "Good Star," spreading positive influence. Including this prize money, his cumulative donations through "Good Star" have reached a total of 76.71 million won. This continuous support provides strength to the sick children and their families.

Hong Seung-yoon, director of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, expressed deep gratitude, stating, "We are profoundly thankful to singer Lee Chan-won for sharing his warm heart every month, and to the fans who cheer him on." He added, "We will responsibly use the donated funds to help children in urgent need of treatment regain their health."

Meanwhile, singer Lee Chan-won is scheduled to meet with fans again for the encore performances of his national tour concert 'Brilliant Day' on May 9th and 10th at KSPO DOME.
