Kim Yunwoo Makes Mark on Dr. Swimboy

ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Dr. Stay' is set to premiere on June 1st. This drama is a medical human romance depicting the story of public health doctor Do Ji-han (played by Lee Jae-wook), who is dispatched to the infamous island of Pyeondongdo, which everyone avoids, and the secretive nurse Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun). Rookie actor Park Jun-seo has been cast as a drill sergeant at the army training center where Do Ji-han is a trainee, and an aspiring actor. He is expected to make a strong impression on viewers by naturally portraying a character who breaks through his own prejudices and changes in the face of emergencies. Park Jun-seo is also a colleague at the same agency (Log Studio) as Lee Jae-wook.

Hong Min-gi captivated viewers with his overwhelming visuals and charm in 'Dr. Stay'. Leaving a strong impression from his first appearance with a unique aura, Hong Min-gi appeared as the owner of a sports car, drawing attention and having an intense first encounter with fellow public health doctor Do Ji-han (played by Lee Jae-wook). In particular, he led the drama's tension by showcasing his uncompromisingly cool 'elite doctor' persona. He boldly declared his refusal to provide house calls, stating it was "irrational" regarding the island's practice of habitually requesting visits even for patients who could travel, surprising nurse Hwang Shin-hye (played by Joo In-young). This cold demeanor, strictly adhering to principles, contrasted with the Korean medicine public health doctor Yong Ju-cheon (played by Kim Yun-woo) and the somewhat clumsy Do Ji-han, adding to the drama's amusement. He also provided unexpected laughter by making a stylish appearance on an ATV to rescue Do Ji-han and Yuk Ha-ri, who were lost.

'Dr. Stay' is based on the popular webtoon 'Jjonber Doctor' and is directed by Lee Myung-woo, who also directed 'Boyhood'. While lead actor Lee Jae-wook is currently serving in the military, the charming cast including Shin Ye-eun, Hong Min-gi, Lee Soo-kyung, and Kim Yun-woo are generating anticipation for their lively chemistry. Kim Yun-woo plays the role of 'Yong Ju-cheon,' a frivolous public health doctor specializing in Korean medicine. Known as the 'Pyeondongdo Idol' due to his innocent personality, he faces trials that will shake his carefree life. Kim Yun-woo perfectly embodies the character of Yong Ju-cheon, who has an unlovable charm.

Shin Ye-eun plays 'Yuk Ha-ri,' a nurse who returns to Pyeondongdo with a secret, three-dimensionally expressing her pure and honest charm along with a complex inner self, completing a thrilling and delightful synergy with Lee Jae-wook. Hong Min-gi transforms into the taciturn and cold elite public health doctor 'Hyun Chi-yeon,' doubling the character's charm by showing budding emotions in front of 'Yuk Ha-ri.' Lee Soo-kyung plays 'Um Jeong-seon,' a native nurse of Pyeondongdo who hides her jealousy and longing for the city, foreshadowing the multifaceted charm of a character shaken by an unexpected event. Kim Yun-woo perfectly portrays the unlovable charm of 'Yong Ju-cheon,' a public health doctor specializing in Korean medicine with an innocent personality. The production team stated, "This is a story about characters who meet on an isolated island and heal their wounds and grow through each other," adding, "We will deliver a pleasant and warm healing experience with the chemistry of youthful actors' warm friendship and love."

'Dr. Stay' will premiere on June 1st at 10 PM on ENA and will also be available on KT Genie TV and Disney Plus. The drama is set to depict the story of 'island men and women' who meet on a remote island and learn to save people and love through the island villagers, with warm laughter and excitement.
