Kim Rae Won & Park Hoon Star in SBS Full Count

Actors Kim Rae-won and Park Hoon will star together in SBS's new sports drama '​Full Count'. SBS officially announced the casting of the two actors on the 23rd, stating that the drama will depict the survival struggle of individuals vying for the managerial position within a professional baseball team. This project marks SBS's first baseball-themed drama in eight years, following the highly popular '​Hot Stove League' which aired in 2019.

Kim Rae-won will play 'Hwang Jin-ho,' the acting manager of the popular team 'Stars.' A former catcher and battery coach, Hwang Jin-ho spent most of his playing career as a backup. He is tasked with the crucial responsibility of leading the team, which is on the verge of missing the postseason. Although he receives better evaluations as a coach, he has lived as an outsider within the team's culture that values tradition.

Park Hoon will portray 'Jo Dong-hee,' a legendary pitcher for the 'Stars' and the pitching coach, considered the top candidate for the next manager. Despite a brilliant playing career, Jo Dong-hee harbors a deficiency of never having won a championship. He possesses a strong ambition to lift the championship trophy as a manager. He considers the very situation of competing for the manager's seat with Hwang Jin-ho, who was a second-tier player during his time, a humiliation. He reveals his ambition to ascend to the throne by making Hwang Jin-ho a scapegoat.

The production team plans to vividly portray the fierce competition and the characters' narratives within the professional baseball scene, heightening anticipation for the rival dynamic between Kim Rae-won and Park Hoon over the 'Stars' manager's throne.' In addition to the thrilling on-field competition, meticulous strategic battles and power struggles unfolding in the dugout are expected to provide tension to the drama.

SBS's new drama 'Full Count' is scheduled to air in 2027 and is anticipated to follow in the successful footsteps of 'Hot Stove League.' The drama will be directed by PD Ham Jun-ho and written by writer Park Myung-rang.
