The success of "Salmokji" continues the streak of box office hits for distributor Showbox this year. Showbox's film "If We," released on December 31st of last year, surpassed its break-even point by attracting 2.6 million viewers, and "The Man Who Lives with the King," released on February 11th, broke the 16 million viewer mark, ushering in a new era of 10 million viewer films.
Adding to this positive momentum, there is also the good news that Director Yeon Sang-ho's "Swarm," scheduled for release next month, has been invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. While predicting audience numbers is difficult, the Cannes invitation is expected to be a positive factor for its box office performance.
