Park Bogum's First Animated Voice Role

Actor Park Bo-gum is taking on his first-ever animated voice acting role. The animated film "David," set to premiere on July 15, has revealed its top-tier voice cast, including Park Bo-gum, Jang Gwang, Cha Ji-yeon, Song Joon-seok, and Si Young-joon.

The movie "David" tells the story of an ordinary shepherd boy, David, who faces a king's destiny, from the songs of his mother to his confrontation with the giant Goliath.

The protagonist David is voiced by actor Park Bo-gum. He plans to express David's growth and moments of decision with his characteristic clear and firm voice, and will also perform the musical numbers in the film with his vocal talent, which was recognized in the musical "Let Me Fly." Park Bo-gum stated, "I deeply resonated with David's boldness and message of hope. I hope the film will be remembered by audiences as a work that conveys the courage to try and the perseverance to achieve."

The prophet Samuel, who guides David on his path to kingship, is voiced by Jang Gwang. Musical actress Cha Ji-yeon has been cast as Nitzevet, David's mother, who conveys faith and courage to him. Cha Ji-yeon expressed her anticipation, saying, "I hope the power of the heart-stirring music and emotions are fully conveyed to the audience," and added, "Especially the duet song between 'David' and 'Nitzevet' in the movie is even more moving as it fully captures a mother's love."

Adding to the cast, King Saul is voiced by voice actor Song Joon-seok, and Goliath is voiced by voice actor Si Young-joon, enhancing the film's quality. Song Joon-seok revealed his affection for his character, saying, "He was an attractive character because he was someone who collapsed due to losing his conviction." Si Young-joon shared his thoughts, stating, "It was a meticulously crafted film where the story, music, and visuals were all excellent. I am honored to have participated in such a project."
