Ham Eun Jung, Yoon Sun Woo Wedding Drama Extended

MBC's daily drama 'The First Man' has been confirmed for a 20-episode extension, bringing its total run to 140 episodes. The drama, which premiered last December, depicts the fatal confrontation between a woman who lives another person's life for revenge and a woman who steals another's life for her own desires. Ham Eun-jung and Yoon Seon-woo, who returned to acting with this project after marriage, garnered attention even before its release.

'The First Man' has consistently ranked at the top of IPTV VOD charts and achieved results comparable to mini-series in TV-OTT popularity indices. To reciprocate this box office value and viewer support, MBC decided to extend the drama by 20 episodes, equivalent to four weeks of broadcast.

A representative from MBC Drama Studio stated, "We are showing remarkable achievements that surpass the limitations of daily dramas in key metrics," and added, "We decided to extend the broadcast to repay the viewers' support. We ask for your keen interest in the thrilling counterattacks and whirlwind developments that will unfold."

In the episode aired on the 23rd, the drama's tension reached its peak when Han Young-ja (played by Choi Ji-yeon) directly witnessed the affair between her husband Kang Nam-bong (played by Jung Chan) and Chae Hwa-young (played by Oh Hyun-kyung). Han Young-ja's life, shattered by the unexpected scene, instantly spiraled into ruin. The preview at the end of the broadcast hinted at an escalating conflict, showing that Ma Dae-chang (played by Lee Hyo-jung) also learned of the affair.

Specifically, the episode aired on the 24th featured a turn of events where the engagement meeting between Kang Jun-ho (played by Park Geon-il) and Oh Jang-mi (played by Ham Eun-jung) was disrupted by the revelation of the affair and a lawsuit for alimony. Chae Hwa-young attempted to cover up the situation by having her children marry with Kang Nam-bong's help, but the situation took a drastic turn when Han Young-ja exposed the entire truth in front of Ma Dae-chang. At the engagement meeting, a registered letter containing alimony lawsuit documents arrived addressed to Chae Hwa-young, signaling the start of an all-out war.
