Blackpink Jisoo Family Controversy Continues

BLACKPINK's Jisoo's older brother arrested on charges of sexual assault and her ex-wife's shocking revelations have thrust Jisoo into the center of controversy over an unexpected "family issue." Her older brother, identified as Mr. Kim, is accused of purchasing a "meal date ticket" worth 3 million won from a female BJ, then taking her to his home after a meal and drinks, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. Mr. Kim denied the charges, but police applied for an arrest warrant, which was rejected by the prosecution.

Mr. Kim's ex-wife, Ms. A, claims that Mr. Kim committed acts of sexual violence, confinement, waterboarding, domestic violence, and verbal abuse. She revealed shocking atrocities, stating that the abuse and verbal attacks began just two weeks after their marriage registration. She alleged that he forced her to swallow phlegm while filming a video, hit her head with his phone, and subjected her to waterboarding. She also stated that she was choked while pregnant. Ms. A added that she was unable to report him because Mr. Kim threatened her, saying he could use money to get out of trouble.

Ms. A requested that while Mr. Kim's wrongdoing is acknowledged, his family should not be criticized, emphasizing that Jisoo was likely unaware of these events. Jisoo's agency, Blissoo, also stated through its legal representative that the matter is entirely unrelated to the artist or Blissoo. They clarified that Jisoo has lived separately from her family since childhood and is in no position to be aware of or involved in their private lives. The agency announced that they will not provide financial or legal support and will take strong action against those who create and spread malicious posts.

However, contrary to Jisoo's side's statement, traces of her older brother's name being listed with the title "Blissoo CEO" in recent activities have surfaced, raising questions. His name appeared as "Blissoo Management CEO" in Netflix's "Monthly Boyfriend," Coupang Play's "Newtopia," and Jisoo's fan meeting. It was explained that in the case of "Monthly Boyfriend," it was an error by the production company before the controversy arose and has since been corrected.

Meanwhile, Jisoo's older sister, influencer Kim Ji-yoon, is drawing attention by participating in another survival reality show, "Kill It: Style Creator Grand War." Kim Ji-yoon has previously appeared on a survival reality show once last year, and during the promotion for this program, she is leveraging her connection as "​Blackpink Jisoo's older sister" to generate interest.
