Ok Joo Hyun Buys Hannam The Hill for $19 Billion

Singer and musical actress Ok Joo-hyun has purchased a luxury residential complex, 'Hannam The Hill,' located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for 19 billion won. This is the first property Ok Joo-hyun has acquired in her own name since her debut.

The unit purchased is a duplex spanning approximately 332㎡ on the first and second floors, and it was bought from Heo Hee-soo, president of SPC Group. Ok Joo-hyun signed the contract in May of last year and recently completed the ownership transfer by paying the remaining balance. It is known that a mortgage with a maximum claim amount of 12.3 billion won was established during this transaction.

The 19 billion won recorded as the transaction price is the highest ever for a real estate sale in Hannam The Hill. The previous record was 17.5 billion won, set by Jin, a member of the group BTS, in March of last year. However, Ok Joo-hyun has broken this record by signing a contract for 1.5 billion won more. The seller, President Heo Hee-soo, purchased the unit in September 2015 for 6.9 billion won, reportedly making a capital gain of 12.1 billion won in approximately 10 years.

Hannam The Hill is a super-luxury residential complex built on the former Dankook University site in 2011, known for its low-rise design, large land share, stringent security, and privacy protection. Its location offering views of Namsan Mountain and the Han River, along with a low floor area ratio, are also considered strengths. The complex features community facilities, walking paths, and landscaping.

Hannam The Hill is known to be home to numerous celebrities, including actor So Ji-sub, singer Lee Seung-chul, and broadcaster Lee Young-ja. Additionally, BTS member Jin is reported to have purchased or owned a total of three apartments in Hannam The Hill to date. Actress Kim Tae-hee also sold an apartment in the complex in November of last year for 12.7 billion won, realizing a capital gain of 8.5 billion won.
