The horror film 'Salmokji,' starring Kim Hye-yun, has achieved box office success, surpassing 1 million cumulative viewers in just 10 days of its release. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated network, 'Salmokji' exceeded 1 million viewers by 10 AM on the 17th.

This box office speed is the fastest for a horror genre film since 'Metamorphosis,' released in 2019, and is one day ahead of its competitor, 'Project Hail Mary.' 'Salmokji' had already surpassed its break-even point of 800,000 viewers on the 14th.

The film 'Salmokji' depicts the terrifying events experienced by a film crew who head to a reservoir to investigate an unidentified shape captured on a road view. While opinions on the level of horror and the narrative progression have been somewhat divided since its release, there has been continuous praise for the actors' immersive performances and the intense suspense.
