Choi Woo-shik, Moon Ga-young Cast in 'A Killer Paradox'

Choi Woo-shik, Moon Ga-young, Heo Nam-jun, Yoo Jae-myung, Kang Han-na, Kim Yeo-jin, and Gong Seung-yeon have been confirmed to star in tvN's new drama 'Whale Star'.

'Whale Star' is set in Gyeongseong in 1926 and tells a love story that begins when Heo Su-a, a maid from a pro-Japanese family, saves Kang Ui-hyeon, an independence activist, who fell into the sea. It is scheduled to depict the passionate and brilliant romance of youths who were a nation and love to each other amidst a turbulent era.

This drama is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and will be co-directed by Director Hur Jin-ho, known for the films '​Christmas in August' and '​One Fine Spring Day', and Director Yoo Beom-sang, known for the dramas '​Twinkling Watermelon' and '​Study Group'.

Choi Woo-shik will play the role of Kang Ui-hyeon, an independence activist and the son of a pro-Japanese father. He is a character who fatefully embraces Heo Su-a, who saved him while carrying out a mission for the liberation of his country, and is expected to portray his steadfastness and pure love in protecting his beliefs and love amidst the pain of the era.

Moon Ga-young will play the role of Heo Su-a, a kind and strong-hearted maid. After coincidentally saving Kang Ui-hyeon, she develops special feelings for him and is expected to express complex emotions as she faces a fateful change between Kang Ui-hyeon and Song Hae-su.
