Jeon Wonju Buys Hynix at ₩20,000

Actress Jeon Won-ju made a comeback on her YouTube channel "Jeon Won-ju's Main Character" two months after undergoing surgery for a hip fracture due to a fall on an icy road. She also drew attention by generously giving staff members 100,000 won each as pocket money. Jeon Won-ju stated, "When I was just lying there, I thought it would be my loss if I just left like this," and added, "Now, I've decided to find joy in giving what I have." This signifies a sharp shift from her life focused on saving and accumulating to one of "sharing," as she has begun prioritizing the value of "people" and "moments" over the value of money, following a health crisis and an early diagnosis of dementia.

Jeon Won-ju is known to have purchased SK Hynix shares in early 2011 at around 20,000 won per share and held them long-term. At the time, SK Hynix shares closed at 1,835,000 won. This investment history has also made her famous as a "representative financial management expert in the entertainment industry."

Jeon Won-ju previously appeared on TV Chosun's "Perfect Life" and confessed her fear of dementia and her diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment. At the time, she shared the suffering of dementia, saying, "My close friend got dementia, and when I greeted her, she asked, 'Who are you?'" She also revealed that she had written a letter like a will in advance to avoid causing trouble for her children, which evoked sadness. In actual tests, she was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and early signs of brain atrophy were also confirmed.

However, Jeon Won-ju did not give up her will to live and recovered her health. Two months after her hip replacement surgery, she returned in good health and shared that while lying down, she thought, "It would be my loss if I just left like this," and decided to live with "the joy of giving." This change was not just in words, but was demonstrated by her personally handing out 100,000 won in cash to the staff. Contrary to her usual image as a "stingy celebrity," she brought laughter with her characteristic generosity, telling the staff who tried to dissuade her, "I want to give it. I enjoy the fun of giving a little at a time."

Jeon Won-ju's son recalled the situation during his mother's sudden hip fracture accident and expressed his shock. He said, "I suddenly received a call from 119 saying my mother was hospitalized. I was so surprised that I rushed over immediately," and was shocked to see his mother lying in the emergency room. Despite her fear before the surgery, Jeon Won-ju showed a faster-than-expected recovery. She revealed that the hospital bill for her one-month stay was about 10 million won, which she paid for herself.
