Korean Film 'Salmokji' Box Office Hits 800K Admissions

The movie 'Salmokji' has surpassed its break-even point of 800,000 viewers. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network, on the 14th, 'Salmokji' ranked first at the box office for seven consecutive days, adding 64,689 daily viewers and recording a cumulative audience of 862,332.

Released on the 8th, 'Salmokji' is a horror film that depicts the story of a road view filming team returning to a reservoir with endless strange rumors, called Salmokji, to reshoot after an unidentified figure is captured there. Kim Hye-yun stars in the lead role.

On the same day, 'The King and the Man' ranked second at the box office, with 23,852 daily viewers and a cumulative audience of 16,444,913. 'The King and the Man' became the 34th film to surpass 10 million viewers on March 6th and rose to second place at the all-time box office, surpassing 'Extreme Job'. The first place at the all-time box office is 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents', with a cumulative revenue of 158.7 billion won, the highest in history.

'The King and the Man' is set in Cheongnyongpo in 1457 and tells the story of a village chief who voluntarily exiled himself for the village's prosperity and a young former king who was exiled after being driven from the throne. Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do star in the lead roles.

Third place was 'Project Hail Mary', with 21,015 daily viewers and a cumulative audience of 2,086,158. This film depicts the journey of a protagonist who wakes up in space with no memory and undertakes the final mission to save humanity, with Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller in the lead roles.
